Can a quick sketch help you notice details if you cannot draw well?
Use marks to record shape and position rather than to make an attractive picture. Choose a safely observable object, sketch a relationship and compare what you missed.
Record one relationship
For a cup, compare the rim, body and handle without adding shading or a full background. Respect restrictions on copying other people's work. Written descriptions of relative size and position are an alternative.
Check against the object
Notice one difference, such as a higher handle than expected. Record it rather than grading your talent. Another angle can provide a later observation; this is attention to details, not proof of drawing competence.

What if the sketch looks inaccurate?
The difference is a reason to look again. Use words if drawing distracts you.
