How do you notice whose account is missing from a report?
Identify who speaks directly, who is merely described and which consequential claims lack a direct source. Missing perspectives create questions, not permission to invent someone's response.
Mark quotations and retellings
A community-event report may quote organizers without participants or affected people. That does not automatically make it wrong, but limits its coverage. Check whether unavailable responses or interview refusals are disclosed.
Find firsthand material from another position
Look for a public statement, interview or original document concerning the same event and period. Multiple copies of one report do not add independent perspectives. Preserve uncertainty instead of supplying motives yourself.

Check individual verifiable claims rather than averaging credibility.

A source gap does not establish falsehood, and different accounts need not have equal evidential weight.
