How do you map a practice portfolio to one role requirement?

繁體中文版

The Weekend Club · Practical editorial guide · 2026-09-19

Choose a specific requirement, then select work showing the relevant decisions and actions. An attractive finished piece may not demonstrate the needed ability. Label practice work honestly rather than presenting it as client delivery.

Connect a requirement to visible evidence

  1. Identify one task in a current role description.
  2. Locate a decision in your work that relates to it.
  3. Explain your contribution, constraints and missing evidence without inventing business outcomes.

Show what you actually did

For an information-organising requirement, show how you grouped public event details, handled missing fields and improved navigation. A finished poster alone may hide that work. Separate your contribution to collaborative projects and obtain permission to share materials.

A worksheet you can use

Role task: __. Work sample: __. Visible decision: __. Contribution: __. Sharing permission: __. Evidence gap: __.

What if no suitable sample exists?

Create a small fictional exercise and identify its nature and limits. Do not imply a client commissioned it.

Evidence and scope

This is a preparation tool, not a hiring rubric or employment guarantee. Follow the actual organisation's requirements.
