Expert Panel or Peer Roundtable for a Work Question?

繁體中文版

The Weekend Club · Practical editorial guide · 2026-09-25

Choose a panel with a clear agenda when you need an overview of a subject. Choose a participatory roundtable when you want to compare how people handle a specific situation. Check whether your role is to listen, ask a question or help develop the discussion.

Check your role in the programme

  1. Find the question-and-answer or breakout time.
  2. Reduce your question to a situation without confidential company details.
  3. Ask whether questions are collected beforehand and how participants take turns.

Decide what you will use the answers for

A panel can supply concepts to investigate. A roundtable can supply cases to compare. Record the team setting and constraints behind an example before considering it for your own work. A useful note includes both the proposed action and the circumstances that made it possible.

A filled example

Editorial example: An wants better cross-team handovers. A process panel gives her vocabulary; a roundtable lets her ask how small teams assign delivery responsibility. She leaves client names out of her example.
