How do you choose a weekend plan when you have only one free slot?
Filter your options by time, budget and energy, then choose the kind of experience you most want this week. Keep the remaining ideas for later instead of fitting several incompatible plans into one afternoon.
Calculate the time you can actually use
For a two-to-five afternoon slot, subtract travel, preparation and the buffer you need afterwards. Note whether each option requires a reservation, allows an early departure or depends on another person. Compare only the plans that fit those conditions. An appealing activity is not a workable choice if its setup consumes the whole window.
Choose one purpose for the outing
Decide whether you want to make something, observe quietly or encounter a different perspective. If making something is the priority, favor a small project you can finish over three places you could browse. Afterwards, assess whether the experience met that intention, rather than counting stops or photographs. The unused ideas remain available for another day.

What if I like two options equally?
If both fit, choose the one with less preparation or draw lots. You do not need to spend the entire free slot deciding.
Evidence and scope
A full itinerary is not inherently better. Rest can be the appropriate choice for the available time.
