How do you ask friends for dating introductions without making them responsible?

繁體中文版

The Weekend Club · Practical editorial guide · 2026-09-22

Say you are open to dating, name a few genuine essentials and let your friend ask the other person first. An introduction is a starting point, not a guarantee of compatibility or permission to share private details.

Start with these three steps

  1. State your current dating intention clearly.
  2. Separate essentials from preferences instead of supplying a long scoring list.
  3. Ask for mutual permission before exchanging contact details.

The distinction that changes your decision

A friend knowing you does not authorise them to decide for somebody else. Do not request photographs, income or private contacts for screening. A short description each person agrees to share can establish initial interest.

A filled example

“I am open to a serious relationship. If you happen to know someone who also wants to meet people, you could ask whether they are interested. No need to search specially.” Do not blame the introducer if the match does not work.

Evidence and scope

This is an original editorial decision guide. Examples are hypothetical, not testimonials. Participation, another person’s interest and eventual outcomes are separate questions. The source supplies context, not validation of these scripts, exercises or WKND outcomes. No outside expert reviewed or endorsed this guide.
