Ask a Client for Feedback You Can Publish

繁體中文版

The Weekend Club · Practical editorial guide · 2026-09-24

Ask whether feedback is welcome, then distinguish private improvement notes from a public testimonial. Use specific questions, preserve meaning and confirm the permitted text and identity details before publishing.

Three practical steps

  1. At a suitable completion point, ask what was useful and what could improve.
  2. If you want to publish an excerpt, show accurate wording for confirmation.
  3. Use only the agreed scope and keep a record of consent and how changes can be requested.

Describe the experience that actually occurred

Separate the client’s experience, your work and verified metrics. A compliment about clarity should remain about clarity. Private messages need permission before public use, and anonymity can be respected.

A filled example

Illustrative example: a client praises clear handover files. The designer asks to use that meaning on a portfolio page and lets the client choose whether the company is named before publication.
