Over 4,000 people have already came out for brunch. Now, here are 6 true stories submitted by our users of how one brunch totally changed someone’s life.

Hey WKND CLUB team! Just wanted to say thanks and share a quick story.

I’ve been in finance for almost 10 years, but never felt passionate about it. I’ve always wanted to switch careers, just didn’t know where to start.

I joined one of your brunches at a café, and the woman sitting across from me might’ve just changed my whole career path.

We ended up talking for 6 hours. She kind of helped me see a new direction. I told her I run a blog (around 8,000 followers) and an IG account (almost 10k) where I post about movies, story-driven video games, and film/TV adaptations of games.

She goes, “My company designs games, we’re actually looking for part-time social media specialist. Would you be interested?”
I got the interview eventually and want to express how grateful I am, thanks guys!

Hey team! Just wanted to say thank you and share a little story.

I’m a photographer. I shoot both photos and videos. It was my second time joining WKND CLUB, and I happened to be seated next to a woman who runs her own brand. Halfway through brunch, she suddenly said, “I’ve been wanting to find someone who can shoot softer, more story-driven photos for our brand but I haven’t found the right photographer yet.”

I took a deep breath and told her, “Actually… I’m a photographer.”

She asked, “Would you be open to pitching a concept? Maybe we could try working together?”

That was about two months ago. Since then, we’ve already done two shoots, and just last week, she introduced me to a friend who also runs a brand. I used to read the stories you guys post and now it actually happened to me. Super grateful. I’ll definitely keep coming to brunch when I can!

Hey WKND CLUB team! I’m Sunny,I work full-time as a social worker, but lately I’ve been trying to build a side hustle to earn some extra income. I’ve seen the stories you share and wanted to share mine too.

About three years ago, I started making leather goods on weekends just for fun.

At my 5th brunch with you guys, I wasn’t planning on talking about my side hustle. But my table started to chat about “something you’ve been wanting to try,” I mentioned I was thinking about joining a flea market to sell my leather pieces.

Everyone got super excited. One girl immediately said, “Make one for me, I’ll pay!” Another guy said, “Do you have an IG? I can make unboxing videos for you!” That same week, I signed up for a flea market. Last month, I got 3 to 5 orders, and just last week, the girl from my table came to buy her second piece in person.Honestly, I feel so lucky and happy. Thanks for creating a space where this kind of magic happens!

Hey team, just wanted to say a big thanks. I think your setup might’ve just helped me get one step closer to my dream job.

I’ve been a Product Manager at a foreign company for 7 years, and I’ve always wanted to break into a big-name tech company with better pay. A few weeks ago, I went to one of your brunches, honestly didn’t expect much, figured it was just a casual way to meet people.

One girl at my table turned out to be a PM at one of my dream companies. I mentioned I’d been trying to make a move but kept getting ghosted after sending in my resume. She goes, “Oh we’re actually hiring, I can try referring you.”

I was like, no way, is this real?
We ended up grabbing coffee after and talked until early evening. Before we said bye, she told me, “Shoot me your resume tonight I’ll put in a referral for you tomorrow.”
That was a few weeks ago… and this week, I got an interview. So yeah, seriously, thank you.

That weekend, I almost skipped brunch, I was so burnt out from work, I was ready to call in sick and stay in bed. I’d been dealing with some serious workplace bullying and felt totally stuck. The only reason I showed up was because my friend at the table basically forced me to go.

I was quiet most of the time, just thinking, Should I quit my job?

Then the guy next to me, a 38-year-old sales manager, said he’d just quit his job recently. I asked, “How did you know you were ready?”
He said, “You don’t. But one day you realize you’ve already been scared of everything — and what’s left is freedom.”

That line stayed with me. I opened up to the group about what I was going through. That night, I went home and wrote my resignation letter.

Hey hey team!! I have to share what happened at my first brunch,I’m seriously so thankful!

So I’m a total newbie switching into UI/UX without a design background. At my table, there was a girl who turned out to be a UX Lead at a well-known design company. She talked really fast but was super friendly. She noticed I was quiet and asked, “So, what do you do?”

I kind of shyly told her I was trying to switch into UI/UX that I’ve taken a bunch of courses and started building a small portfolio, but hadn’t gotten any real projects yet.

She immediately said, “Send me your portfolio, I’ll pass it to a company where one of my old teammates works at.” I legit almost cried. And guess what? I actually got an interview!
