How do you label a collaborative display so contributions are clear?
Before publication, agree on the title, each person's specific contribution and the names they want public. Avoid a vague collective credit or letting whoever posts decide authorship alone.
Align the descriptions first
- List the work actually involved.
- Ask each person to confirm their description and credit.
- Separate shared decisions from individual execution. A small publication might identify interviewing, editing, illustration and layout without ranking unlike tasks as though they were interchangeable.
Leave unresolved details unpublished
Use an agreed alternative for someone who does not want a public name, or hold the relevant information. Resolve contribution disagreements before publication rather than establishing a position through a post. Label prototypes or display versions so viewers do not assume the work is already sold or offered as a service.
A worksheet you can use
Title: __. Tasks: __. Confirmed descriptions: __. Public-name choices: __. Version status: __. Publication agreement: __.
Is this necessary among friends?
A few agreed sentences can be enough. The point is prior confirmation, not burdensome paperwork.
Evidence and scope
